Advancing THE kingdom

Lord!  Let it be said of me….. That I have loved YOU all the days of my life!  In this world today, there’s chaos all around.  It seems that nothing makes sense and when we finally think we have it figured out, life gets more complicated.  More than ever people are looking for answers through anti-depressants, anxiolytics and other psychotropic drugs, trying to calm us down and not overwhelm us with the everyday barrage of sludge slung our way by life and those in it.  It’s easy to get to focused on the little things and take our attention off of the big picture, I know I’m guilty of it.  Yet I see the POWER of God working in my life and in the lives of those who believe, and I know that our lives influence others who may not have Christ in their lives.  When you recognize and see that Christ brings order to an otherwise chaotic life, through His Spirit, that enables us to advance the kingdom of God.  See, advancing the Kingdom of God is in essence bringing order to Chaos, just like in Genesis when God saw the Chaos and Spoke order to it when forming the world separating light from dark, firmaments and establishing Adam as an authority to rule over the animals created.  God’s Kingdom is taking the carnal, earthly mindsets and establishing heavenly mindsets, it’s taking a dark and corrupt heart and setting in it’s place a new heart of flesh that can be brought into alignment with God’s Heart.  It’s setting Jesus on the throne of our hearts and removing ourselves.  This is how Christ gains his Kingdom “for the kingdom of God is within you”  When we love God with all our hearts and proclaim his word, this advances the kingdom, when we act like christians rather than heathens, this advances the kingdom, when all we do is for the glory of God!!!!!!!! Well you get the point.  We must bring the kingdom of Our God and it must start by letting God do His good work in us.

What’s God Doing?

Since I’ve last blogged, God has been doing something deeper in the church, with His people.  Jesus has been calling so many in our church to a deeper place of intimacy, and many are responding, but He’s not satisfied!  He’s a passionate God, and He’ll pursue His bride with unceasing fervor!  He’s pulling out all the stops and will not relent even to the end!  Even if we’re at the brink of hell, He will keep calling us to a place of repentance and intimacy!  Jesus is bringing forth revelation of Himself, as if with every turn of The Spirit He shimmers in light and shows us a new burst of color never seen before!  With each turn He’s captivating our thoughts and affections, stirring within us burning desire to know more about this great God we serve.  He wants us not in pretense, but whole -heartedly, with all our hearts, minds, souls and strength! I’m still hungry! I want more!

Hearing the heartbeat of God!

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to write what the Holy Spirit is stirring in my heart, and He’s done ALOT in just a couple of months.  I’ve been on a whirlwind of a ride, I’m clinging to the hem of His Garment and NOT LETTING GO!  My last entry spoke of the hunger in my heart, He’s poured out his Spirit in such an increasing measure, but I’m still hungry!  The closer I get to Jesus, the more I taste and see that HE IS GOOD, and he makes me hungry to taste more!  We’ve been learning about a more effective way to pray…….Asking God to reveal his heart and allowing Him to pray through us!  Who’d of thought?!  Ask GOD! What an Exceptional idea, but it’s way more than just that, it requires that we get close enough to hear His heartbeat, It requires that we be still and know that He is God!  It requires a listening and obedient lovesick heart that only yearns to hear the next word that comes from His lips.  The closer He gets to us, the more facinating He is! Every time He speaks it’s revelation and it expands our heart to hold more of Him!  I just can’t grasp the ENORMOUS LOVE that Jesus has for His bride!  I want to know, and I’m going to keep seeking his heart, I’m going to keep asking Him for His burdens.  I’ve got to keep listening, and keep seeking Him more!  What a wretched condition is the soul of a man who’s tasted and seen the Lord’s goodness and decided to chase after the temporal things of this world.  May my heart always seek after You Lord I Pray!

Dissatisfied….

Have you ever been dissatisfied with something to the extent that something had to change or else………..I’m dissatisfied with the status quo of my relationship with Jesus.  Oh sure, everything is going well enough I suppose, I’ve got all the things in this world a person needs, a family who loves me, a good job, a church that I can call home, yep it’s pretty comfortable………….yet there is still something stirring deep within me, that makes me uncomfortable.  If this so called “American Dream” is so good, why do I still crave more?  The answer-we as christians are not called to be comfortable.  Do I think everyone is called to a life of poverty? Yes! if we consider Matt. 5- where Jesus Said “blessed are the POOR in Spirit”  blessed are you when the world has nothing it can offer you, when your soul is not attached to the things of possession.  Does that mean we give all our possesions away? No, not necessarily, what it does mean is that we come to the place of intimacy, where whatever ministry comes forth is based in the love Christ has placed in us.  I’m desperate to go deeper, and I need Jesus to speak to me and be everything I’ll ever need or want.  May God get all the GLORY and HONOR!

Presence

I have to express my thanks to God for sending us His presence!  He keeps showing us His faithfulness by showing up and revealing His heart, He’s so good to set His children free because where the Spirit of the Lord is there is FREEDOM!  He was faithful to show up last night in our care group and He touched everyone in a mighty way!  I’m getting hungrier for more of Him and desire to be more like Jesus in every way.  I can only express just a little of my heart, the rest is too much to express with words.  Only the Lord know’s my heart and I encourage anyone who reads this to continue to seek the incredible rewards of knowing THE only Savior in an intimate way, seek His presence!

Are We Hungry?

We have as much of God as we want.  I’ve never really thought about that, or rather thought about it in that way.  In the past, since I’ve given my heart to the Lord Jesus, I’ve been priviledged to experience the presence in very powerful manifestations, and quite frankly, I’ve taken that for granted in times past.  Towards the end of the chapter in Kansas, I believed that the presence was a normal thing in any church that was “spirit filled”  but when we left Kansas and came to Arizona, I was somewhat disproved.  Don’t get me wrong, there was still a presence in the church, it just wasn’t to the level I’d been used to.  This caused me to hunger and thirst for more, because I knew there was more to be had.  Lately we’ve been experiencing the presence in a more tangible way, and I have to say I’m hungry for more.  The only thing that could or would limit the hunger, is if I were to fill myself up with lesser things…….entertainment, idleness, hobbies etc.  Stuff that would steal away my time spent with Jesus.  What I need, and we all need more of, is an appetite.  If we don’t eat, we’re hungry, it’s as simple as that.

Come Down Lord!

There’s something that I’ve been blessed to experience that most people will never know, that being the very presence of God manifesting in our church service.  I’m not indicating just the tingle on the back of your neck, or the goosebumps, though those are nice to experience.  I’m talking about the tangible presence, where God shows himself to us through signs and wonders, through healings both in the physical and the spiritual, through the comfort of the Holy Spirit.  God is moving and He desires to encounter a hungry people to call His own.  I’m hungry……and I want to eat off of Him.  I Thirst…..and I want to drink deep.  I don’t know just exactly how the God of the universe, Jesus Christ is going manifest Himself in our church services, that’s not really for me to judge, but I know what I’ve seen so far!  He’s always so kind, and gentle, never rude, never condemning, always desiring to restore His children, and sometimes He does that in way’s we’d never  expect.  I guess, since He is the Preeminent Lord, He can do that, and who am I to object to something like Him growing a limb out or restoring health to someone.  He is God and to Him be All the Glory.

To Humble Yourself

The thought of humility isn’t often viewed by a majority as being a positive trait instead often times people think it to be weakness or apathy.  However, things work differently in the Kingdom of God!  His word teaches that God will not share his glory with anyone, His son’s and daughter’s, in order to have any lasting effect in the Kingdom, must humble themselves to be perfected into the image of Christ Jesus.  In doing this God himself, exalts the Christ in them, using them mightily as he desires.  If we’re to be truly abandoned to Christ, it shouldn’t be so that we can be a new and improved us, rather he wants us to cast off the old man, the old nature and take upon ourselves the nature of Jesus himself.  This can only be done by humbling ourselves, realizing the vileness of our human nature and allowing through the Holy Spirit, to put on Christ and Christ alone.  Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and He shall lift you up.- James 4:10

Holy Ghost!

With all that’s been happening in and around the world, we can sometimes get too focused on the things of this world.  Just last week after a series of events, I was feeling very frustrated and found my thoughts continually going back to things that I could have handled better or ways to improve the situations around me.  I was so intent on these thoughts that during my prayer time, it was quite the distraction.  However, as I spent time in prayer before service, Jesus provided the answer to my concerns.  I had been so focused on the very temporal and uncontrollable situations going on in my life, when in reality, I should have held to the Eternal Perspective.  That view being that God is in control of my life, and I should rest my hope in His power to affect my circumstances through prayer.  In fact I shouldn’t focus too much on circumstances at all, rather to place my hope in what Jesus has in store for us.
